Judas Priest is a heavy metal band, formed in Birmingham, England, back in 1969.

The inspiration for the band name was Bob Dylan’s 1967 song “The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest”. Bruno Stapenhill was the one who came up with the name. The band was also regularly rehearsing at Dylan’s house in Stone Cross.

During the 70s, Judas Priest struggled by going through numerous lineup changes, unsupportive producers, and basically had no major commercial success. However, during the 80s, things completely changed for them, as they adopted a more “commercial” sound.

So far, Judas Priest has 17 studio albums, 6 live albums, 6 compilation albums, 10 video albums and 33 singles. The band has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, with 12 million copies in the United States.

For the 35th anniversary of the ‘British Steel’ album, Judas Priest released a British Steel blend of Dark Matter Coffee, ha, ha!

During the British Steel tour, Rob Halford routinely fired an actual machine gun from the stage.

Before becoming the lead singer of Judas Priest, Halford was a lighting engineer for stage productions. He transferred his love for theatrics and light effects to the band’s concerts, by using various smoke machines, spotlights, and numerous other visual effects. A trademark of the band is his stage entrance on a motorcycle.

So speaking of motorcycle, as I have shared in one of my videos on stage presence, many bands think they need to come out clobbering people on the head with their heaviest, uptempo pieces.

What I loved about Rob is, he just strapped a mic to the tailpipe of a Harley and rode in with utmost confidence before ever singing a note, driving the audience crazy.

I know from personal experience, singing songs like Painkiller on my YouTube channel, how challenging some of this stuff is.

So with that said, Kati and I decided to take on Dissident Aggressor.
(in the style of Halestorm / Lzzy Hale.)

“It’s awesome. The private sections of the forum are worth the price of admission alone. I struggled with 2 different tertiary (university Level) level teachers (6 months each about 8 years ago) telling me my voice just wouldn’t be able to do what i wanted to be able to do and even if it could, the material i wanted to be able to sing would be too ‘Dangerous.’ Absolute rubbish. If you do the work thats laid out in this course, you are golden, I started in March Last year struggling to hit the E4 note in ‘Under the Bridge’ chorus now I can sing this stuff:
Honestly man, you are not going to find a bad review here. The course and this forum completely demystifies every single aspect of great singing. Just be prepared to do the work.”
