Peter Cetera was a master at writing love songs and combined with his sexy and smooth vocals, his music was truly phenomenal.

As the frontman to Chicago, Peter produced seventeen albums with the group and wrote their first number one single “If You Leave Me Now” which also earned them their first Grammy.

Eventually Cetera branched off on his own and enjoyed an equally successful solo career, writing songs for films and producing 6 Top 40 singles.

In addition to his prolific songwriting, Peter was also a very talented bass player, making him one of the few who were able to successfully play bass and sing lead vocals at the same time.

Peter has gone on to be inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, both as a member of Chicago.

Today I’ll be taking a look at a later performance of Peter live as I share more about his voice and what I thought made him great. I welcome your input as well so let me know what stood out about Peter to you!
