Aerosmith – Dream On – Steven Tyler – Isolated Vocals – Analysis and Singing Lesson

After the poor record sales from their first album, Aerosmith was in danger of being dropped by Columbia Records. However after their management convinced them to release “Dream On” as a single, they instead went on to become one of the label’s biggest acts.

Steven Tyler’s voice has changed a lot over the years and as we look at his isolated vocals we’ll see how he hadn’t really developed his upper mid voice yet, instead relying on his lower mid voice register and his screaming register.
