After Bon Jovi was signed to their first major label they were told they needed to write bigger choruses and to accomplish the task they were partnered with songwriter and producer Desmond Child.

The first day they got together, they wrote “You Give Love A Bad Name” but initially thought the song would be given to the group Loverboy. However they ended up liking it so much they kept it for themselves.

Can you think of any other songs that an artist wrote for someone else but ended up deciding to keep it for themselves? Let me know in the comments!

The song reached number one on the Billboard charts and their follow-up single “Livin’ On A Prayer” which Child also helped to write and produce, ended up doing the same.

Sara Loera is up next to take on the tune. Let us know what you thought!
