Melissa Etheridge has described “I’m The Only One” as one song in a trilogy of tunes that she wrote about a former relationship. The other two songs were “Bring Me Some Water” and “Lover Please”.

What are the most memorable songs that comprise a trilogy collection that you can think of? Share with me in the comments!

Asked once during an interview what the inspiration for the song was, Etheridge replied that it was a “terrible headache”.

The song was Melissa’s highest charting song on the Hot 100 and was her only #1 Adult Contemporary hit which was a rare feat for an emerging artist at that time.

Kayla is taking on the tune in this video, let us know what you thought!
