I have always been a monstrous fan of big vocal production.
In the early 90s, I was privileged to record an amazing record with world-renowned mix engineer and producer Mick Guzauski, as well as guitarist Lanny Cordola.
That band was called Magdallan and the title of the album was called “BIG BANG” (some of you know of Mick’s work from Daft Punk to Kiss, Michael Jackson and everything in between).
That being said, I decided to use this song as a vocal demonstration.
Please keep in mind that all of the background vocals that were recorded here include over 400 tracks of background vocals and none of which were “samples”. Every single track was done live multi track over and over again to get these effects. When this record was recorded in 1991/1992 samples were just getting started and not even part of the equation in making this record, much like Queen.
