I have a lot of people tell me I have a good singing voice, and I sing nearly all the time depending upon my mood. I have never had any voice training of any form, and the only way I know anything about music is from playing a two different Brass instruments over the last 7 years. I was wondering. What is the deal with singers never closing their mouths? I heard you say something about the different sounds and not cutting them off, but what are you really saying. I just need explanation. Thanks

The best way to keep the back of the throat open is to keep the jaw expanded and the tongue dropped so you don;t pinch off the back of the throat. This is why you see a lot of singers with their mouth open.
