Hey i wanted to start your lessons, i play keys for a band in San francisco but ive always wanted to learn to sing, i FEEL like i can sing incredibly well when im singing along with something else, e.g.? a person, the radio etc, but when i have nothing to go off of but the sound in my head it sounds terrible haha is that common???

Yes it’s actually very very common and a good question, I’m glad you posted it.  The best way to overcome that is to record yourself (even if it’s just a little tape recorder) while you are singing to something else that gives you confidence.  With good technique, little by little you will weed out the things you don’t like and start adding your own personality instead of copying someone elses 🙂
