Bad Company recorded “Shooting Star” along with the rest of the songs from the album Straight Shooter, in a gothic castle in Wales that was open to tourists in the summer.

What other unconventional places do you know of where bands have recorded albums? Let me know in the comments!

Paul Rodgers wrote “Shooting Star’ as a “sort of homage to the pitfalls of being in the rock world,” and the song was apparently inspired by the drug and alcohol-related deaths of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison.

The album went on to be certified Gold just one month after its release and reached number 3 on the charts in both the UK and the US.

I hope you enjoy my take on the tune. Let me know what you thought!
