Guitarist Tom Morello was reading a book on the Apache chief Cochise when he came up with the title to the Audioslave tune of the same name. Though the song has nothing to do with the American Indian chief, Morello felt the name fit the vibe of the music.

What other famous song titles can you think of that had nothing to do with the actual song’s lyrics? Share with me in the comments!

Audioslave came about after Rage Against Machine lost its own lead singer and the remaining members joined forces with Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell.

Cochise was the first song off their first album and the lyrics speak of someone who is wasting his life away though Cornell has said he didn’t have anyone in mind when he wrote the tune.

Here’s our own Kayla Reeves taking on the famous tune!
