How many times have you heard the expression “Wow, they have a big set of lungs” when referring to people singing/holding a long note or singing with a big robust sound?

The funny thing is that the term “big set of lungs” is not really the best way to describe it. Let me explain.

While the lungs certainly do play a significant role in singing (of course), it’s actually more about the ability to control the air in the lung and to use the abdominal cavity combined with your upper and lower diaphragms. It brings support and strengthens the ability to pace, manage, and compress air correctly.

In this video, I discuss some of the fundamentals of this process.

I have an entire section on this in my singing course for those that are interested.

I hope this video is beneficial to you and helps you on your singing journey.
