M shadows uses the same singing technique as Ken Tamplin.

Thetechnique is a combination of the Ron Anderson vocal method which Ken and M Shadows have studied under. It involves a specific air compression and open throat technique to allow for creating a distorted vocal sound without using too much air to dry out the vocal folds (chords). Open throat also provides for greater vocal range.
