Kati shows us her softer side today with the song “Rise Up” from Andra Day.
Day’s career was catapulted when she was seen by Stevie Wonder who got her signed to a record deal.
Day wrote the song “Rise Up” at a time in her life where she felt stuck in her personal life as well as with her music. On top of that her friend had been diagnosed with cancer and she wrote the song as sort of a prayer to be able to get back on her feet.
The song earned her a Grammy award nomination for Best performance and ranked at #38 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales.
