Today Kati will take on the song “We Belong” performed by the GREAT Pat Benatar!
As a female ROCKER from the 80s, Benatar has enjoyed a very SUCCESSFUL career including 4 Grammys, 5 platinum albums, 3 gold albums and 15 Billboard Top 40 singles!
Benatar was raised around music. Her mother was an opera singer and Pat trained as a coloratura with plans to attend the Juilliard School, but decided instead to pursue health education instead but when on to drop out after a year.
She briefly worked as a bank teller before quitting her job to pursue a singing career.
Inspired by Liza Minnelli, Benatar began singing regularly in the New York City area by the ’70s, and got a job as a singing waitress at a nightclub named The Roaring Twenties where she was discovered at the Catch A Rising Star club and signed by Chrysalis Records.
The song “We Belong” was the lead single from her 6th album and earned Benatar a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and reached number 3 on Billboard’s Top Rock Tracks.
Kati decided to perform this 80s classic and gave it her own unique flavor.
