Amy Lee sort of redefined what modern rock could expect from a female frontwoman.

Up until then, most rock singers were defined by raspy belty sounding vocals.

Amy Lee brought a new dimension to that by combining a rock sound with a more ethereal gothic opera sound.

This literally helped spawn a whole new generation of female vocalists who could see themselves combining different forms of opera and rock together, as we have seen in bands like Nightwish.

So Sara and I decided to take on this piece to see how we would fare in this arena.
