Ronnie James Dio Medley – 4K

It’s no secret that Ronnie James Dio is one of the greatest rock/metal vocalists of all time.

In fact, his sound is so difficult to emulate, almost no one does, because they can’t.

And it’s for that reason I decided to take it on 🙂

What many people don’t realize is the amount of power, range, stamina, hyper glottal compression/controlled distortion Ronnie used consistently.

And while Ronnie claims to have never taken a vocal lesson, and that may be true, he certainly figured out open throat technique and glottal compression.

I know he has been quoted many times about how his family would play Mario Lanza and he would try to emulate Mario almost on a daily basis (Bel Canto).

Ronnie also discussed his incredible lung capacity that he attributes to playing the trumpet in his youth.

But whatever it is, there’s only one Ronnie James Dio and I’m here to demonstrate this technique for you.
