We’ve been getting a lot of requests to do a few Country songs recently. With that in mind, we’ve chosen one that everybody can enjoy.
This Classic from Dolly Parton has been covered by Miley Cyrus and even the Pentatonix.
The inspiration behind the song Jolene (according to Dolly Parton) was about by a red-headed bank clerk who flirted with her husband Carl Dean at his local bank branch around the time they were newly married. In an interview, she also revealed that Jolene’s name and appearance are based on that of a young fan who came on stage for her autograph.
What makes a great song AND a great performance in ANY genre is the storytelling, and whether the singer convinces you that this is THEIR story.
Sara does just that in this rendition of JOLENE. She pours her heart out and makes you believe. That’s what great songs and great singing are all about!
