OK, OK, OK, All us 80’s guys want to take ourselves seriously. (Ha, ha.)
I was living in Europe at the time with a rock band I was touring with.
So, speaking of Europe, there happened to be this band called “Europe”
who released a track called “The Final Countdown.”
You could hardly go anywhere where that song wasn’t blasted from the rooftops. (I’m serious). Grocery stores, gas stations, hospitals, soccer arenas, even kinder toy stores.
So Sara and I thought about doing this track.
But after the Geico commercial the band did, we said to ourselves, “Will anyone take this seriously?”
I said, look, it’s a great song, a great band. People will take it seriously as long as we don’t take ourselves too seriously… ha ha!
So Sara put on her Sunday’s best and gave it a shot!
So I give you, 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1
