I have a personal connection to the band Kiss as I’ve been fortunate to write songs for both the band and for Gene Simmons.

One thing I learned working with Gene was that he was a businessman first. Both he and the rest of the band did a great job of creating Kiss into an unforgettable act.

The band was most known for their face paint and stage outfits. The group rose to fame in the mid-to-late 1970s with their elaborate live performances, which included fire breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits, and pyrotechnics.

The band also went through a period where they abandoned their makeup and costumes and introduced themselves to a new generation of fans. They would later decide to bring everything back in 1996 when the original band members reunited for a new tour.

Last year Kiss announced that, after 45 years of recording and performing, they will embark on their final tour this year.

Kiss is one of the best-selling bands of all time, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide, including 25 million RIAA-certified albums. They also hold the title as America’s #1 Gold record award winning group of all time, having earned 30 Gold albums.
