Some of the first guitar solos I ever learned were by the LEGENDARY Pink Floyd.
The English rock band was one of the most commercially successful and influential groups in popular music history with their progressive and psychedelic music.
They were known for featuring philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, extended compositions, and elaborate live shows.
They recorded their first album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, at Abbey Road in 1967 directly adjacent to The Beatles, who were recording Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band at the same time.
Pink Floyd has gone on to sell more than 250 million records worldwide. The Dark Side of the Moon is the third best-selling album of all time. Enough copies have been sold that 1 in 12 people in the ENTIRE WORLD own the record.
They were known for their live productions and as a result, the band received venue bans after the increased risk with their pyrotechnics and the damage created from their huge sets.
Today’s reaction is to their performance of “Comfortably Numb” where you’ll be able to see some of their elaborate stage production.
