If English Isn’t My First Language, How Can I Sing English Well?

Singing is a universal language.

However the operative word here is “language.”

One of the most common / desired languages to sing in is singing in English.

While many dialects and accents can share some commonality, there are also some very distinct characteristics of various languages.

In this video, I discuss and showcase how to sing in English without an accent.

For example: as we travel the world we find that Asian languages are very different than Aryan languages, which are also very different than Latin languages which again are also very different than Middle Eastern languages.

However, there is one way we can overcome these challenges when wanting to learn to singing in English, or even perfect your singing in your own native language.

Through “Open Throat Technique” and understanding the fundamentals of the original 5 Italian (Latin) vowel sounds, we can learn to use those vowels to have a “universal language” of singing. In this case, English.

As I cover in this video, I want to share a funny story with you.

A couple of years ago our family moved to Florence Italy. Florence is one of the most artistic cities in all of Italy, if not Europe.

Every weekend we would go out on the town and hear all of these bands that were singing in perfect English. (no kidding). But when they spoke from the stage they could hardly speak a word of English.

The irony is this: while they could not “speak” in English, they could “sing” in English flawlessly.

This is my case in point.

If you listen to the famed Swedish opera singer Jussi Bjorling singing Nessun Dorma, you cannot detect any accent. (yes, he is singing in Italian).

But Swedes close down their vowels very hard while Italians have a very open sound.

We can learn to do this in any language, covering these vowel sounds into the English language, so that little or no accent is detected.

With that said, I hope you find this video useful. 🙂

“It’s awesome. The private sections of the forum are worth the price of admission alone. I struggled with 2 different tertiary (university Level) level teachers (6 months each about 8 years ago) telling me my voice just wouldn’t be able to do what i wanted to be able to do and even if it could, the material i wanted to be able to sing would be too ‘Dangerous.’ Absolute rubbish. If you do the work thats laid out in this course, you are golden, I started in March Last year struggling to hit the E4 note in ‘Under the Bridge’ chorus now I can sing this stuff:
Honestly man, you are not going to find a bad review here. The course and this forum completely demystifies every single aspect of great singing. Just be prepared to do the work.”
