You know, we all have “heroes” in our lives (or at least we should).
People we look up to.
People we respect.
People we admire.
Often times when I post, I talk about this singer or that performer who has inspired me, in hopes that it may inspire you.
So with that said:
We just did a “modern” version of You Got Another Thing Comin’ by Judas Priest.
You would expect that I would be singing the praises of Rob Halford.
But in this case I am not going to do that.
I am going to sing the praises of my student and friend, Miki Black.
You see, Miki is a breast cancer survivor.
I watched Miki go from musician and model, to taking on one of the most difficult challenges of life. Cancer.
But what did Miki do?
Did she cry Oh, woe is me?
Did she give up?
Did she blame it on someone else?
Nope. Miki not only took it in stride. Miki shared her challenges, her struggles, and her successes with an incredible positive outlook on life for all of us to see.
So sorry Rob, but today’s trophy goes to my friend, Miki Black.
She is one of my heroes!
Oh and BTW.
Miki played all the guitars on this song!
No kidding!
Of the 40 records I have out, Miki is the only female guitarist I have let play on any of my records. (Ken, you male chauvinist pig, ha, ha. I did let my daughter play on 2 of my songs over the years 🙂
But Miki showed up with the goods, so I celebrated that!
