When You Believe | Prince Of Egypt | cover | Xiomara Crystal

Today Xio brings us her version of the song “When You Believe” from the 1998 movie The Prince of Egypt.

The song was recorded as pop single and sung by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. The lyrics and music were originally written by Stephen Schwartz and then another version was written with expanded lyrics and music by producer Babyface.

The Babyface version sung by Carey and Houston was featured on the movie soundtrack and was used for the end credits. It peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and fared even better in Europe.

The song went on to win an Academy Award for Best Original Song but the award was only given to Schwartz even though Mariah and Whitney performed Babyface’s version at the awards show.

Whitney featured the song on her fourth studio album while Mariah added it as part of a compilation album she released.

We hope you enjoy Xio’s version of the timeless ballad and please be sure to share your feedback!

“It’s awesome. The private sections of the forum are worth the price of admission alone. I struggled with 2 different tertiary (university Level) level teachers (6 months each about 8 years ago) telling me my voice just wouldn’t be able to do what i wanted to be able to do and even if it could, the material i wanted to be able to sing would be too ‘Dangerous.’ Absolute rubbish. If you do the work thats laid out in this course, you are golden, I started in March Last year struggling to hit the E4 note in ‘Under the Bridge’ chorus now I can sing this stuff:
Honestly man, you are not going to find a bad review here. The course and this forum completely demystifies every single aspect of great singing. Just be prepared to do the work.”
