Canada has produced multiple great trio bands and Triumph is yet another great example. Formed back in 1975, the group rose to the height of their popularity in the late 70s to mid 80s.

Known for their guitar driven music, the band also featured two great vocalists with frontman Rik Emmett and drummer Gil Moore.

In a career that has spanned over 40 years, the group has put out 16 albums. They have received 18 Gold and 9 Platinum albums between the US and Canada.

Lead singer Rik Emmett ended up leaving the band in 1993 to pursue a solo career but returned for two live stints in 2008 and 2019.

Today’s performance is a version of their classic “Lay It On The Line”. Rik’s high vocals and perfect tone, are qualities I really miss from today’s music and I think you’ll really enjoy them in this video.
