    • How often do you know of roadies co-writing hit songs with the band members they work for?

    Such was the case with the Allman Brothers tune “Midnight Rider” which was written at a cabin in Georgia by Gregg Allman.

    Apparently after getting stuck on the third verse, Allman enlisted the help of his roadie Robert Kim Payne who helped him finish the song.

    Payne was actually given a percentage of all royalties from the tune which went on to become a top 20 hit in the US and Canada.

    In this video Tori is taking on the hit song which was originally released in 1973. Let us know what you thought of her version!
