Tyler Childers definitely doesn’t fit the mold of what a lot of country music has become. He is a great storyteller and songwriter who sings with a lot of passion and honesty that I really appreciate.
Childers hails from Kentucky and grew up singing in choir in church. At around 13 he learned to play the guitar and started writing songs shortly after.
At 19, Tyler released his first album followed by 2 EPs a couple of years later. He didn’t enjoy much success until his album Purgatory which he released in 2017. The album ended up being a breakout and debuted at number 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart.
Tyler released his third album last year and the second single from the record called “All Your’n” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Solo Country Performance.
Today I’ll be reacting to a live, acoustic performance of his song “Hard Times”. I’m anxious to hear what you all thought. Please be sure to share your feedback!
