Vocal Coach Reacts to Bollywood – Kinna Sona Video – Marjaavaan – Sidharth M, Tara S

Today’s video comes by request from my friends in India and it introduces us to the musical style of Bollywood!

There were a lot of names associated with the title of this video so it took me a minute to get it sorted out. The song is called “Kinna Sonna” and it was featured in the Hindi romantic action movie Marjaavaan.

Sung by sung by Jubin Nautiyal, Dhvani Bhanushali featuring Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria. The video was directed by the Meet Bros a well known music director duo in Bollywood.

For those of us that are unfamiliar with Bollywood music and who might have the impulse to dismiss it, I hope this video helps to provide a different perspective.

I will take a look at how truly universal music is and how we might compare this Bollywood song to a western one.

I’ll be busting out my guitar as we mix things up a bit and explore the melody of this tune more in depth.
