“Out Ta Get To Me” was originally released by Guns N Roses and covered by Halestorm and today our own Kati Cher is ready to have a go at the classic tune.
Written by Axl Rose, Izzy Stradlin, and Slash, the song focuses on the band members early years, specifically referring to a time when Axl was regularly in trouble with the law during his youth in Indiana.
The song came off of the band’s debut studio album: Appetite for Destruction which was released in 1987.
The album itself initially received very little mainstream attention until the following year after the band had toured and gotten some airplay.
Eventually the album took off and became a huge success, with some critics calling it the greatest album of all time, having sold more than 30 million copies and being certified platinum 18 times.
In 2011, Lzzy Hale covered the tune for the Halestorm album Reanimate: The Covers EP and even played it live with Slash at a concert in Amsterdam the following year.
