The Sound Of Silence – Cover vs Original – Which Is Better?

After Simon and Garfunkel’s first album tanked, producer Tom Wilson took the album’s original acoustic version of “Sound Of Silence” and added electric instruments and released it as a single.

Decades later, Disturbed and lead singer David Draiman gave the song a creative new interpretation which we’ll look at for the first video in a new series I’m doing, called Cover vs. Original.

I’ll be playing the two versions side by side as we look at the harmonization and very sensitive approach that Simon and Garfunkel took against Disturbed’s unique and creative approach which took the band well outside of their element.
