What Would Be Your Advice To Someone Just Getting Started In Singing? Ken Tamplin And Gabbi Gun

Wanting to learn to sing can be very daunting and intimidating.

We not only have to step out of our comfort zone, but we have to wear our hearts out on our sleeve and be extremely vulnerable, particularly in the early phases of learning to sing.

A funny quote: “No one should be allowed to play the violin until he has mastered it.” – Franz Liszt (later attributed to Jim Fiebig).

This could probably be said of drums and many other annoying disciplines when first attempting to learn how to begin.

Nonetheless, if you can sing Happy Birthday you can learn to sing. Even in your older age.

The voice is a muscle (actually a group of muscles), and like any muscle in your body, with good training, it will grow even into your 70’s. Obviously, not as quick and robust as in your 20’s, but grow it will if you are willing to put in the time and effort with proper training.
