Audioslave – Like A Stone – Chris Cornell – Cover – 4K

I remember when I first heard Chris Cornell sing “Like A Stone.”

To be honest, at first, I didn’t like this song because most of what I knew of Chris was his high belting/wailing distorted vocal sound. This song was much more laid-back and even dumbed-down from a typical Chris Cornell high range vocal.

And yes, I had heard him do Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares To You” and, to be honest, it just seemed a little odd to me and an under-use of such a great powerful rock voice.

But this was also true for me of songs like “Black Hole Sun” (though I did like the very heavy Beatles influences).

So I decided to take on Like A Stone and boy, did I learn that this song is deceitfully difficult to sing!

Of course, this song grew on me, and I hope I did it some justice.

I hope you enjoy listening to the song as much as I enjoyed singing it for you.
