Paul Rodgers is one of my favorite vocalists. His tone, his style, everything about his voice is remarkable and recognizable.
We all model our voices after those who influenced us. I like to think there are some Paul Rodgers-like qualities in my own voice. Add to that some Dio, David Coverdale, Lou Gramm, and you are beginning to get the picture of the kinds of vocal sounds and styles I like to emulate and blend to get my own vocal sounds.
That’s how all artists combine what they admire in others and turn around and add to their own palates to work from.
