The Power Of Love, much like I Will Always Love You, has become the industry standard (and almost a kind of litmus test) for great female ballad vocals.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this song done and how many times people have blown chunks on the last note of The Power Of Love.

And not that all of these singing shows are the end-all to determine great singing by any means, but seldom have I ever seen anyone walk up and nail one of these songs and not make it to the next level.

That is because the bar was set so high for this song, achieving it is an immediate signal of greatness.

So Sara and I thought, “what the heck, let’s go for it and put our hat in the ring, and see how well we do!”

I also thought it would be fun to add a gospel choir to the song as well to give it a little more gospely feel.
