There is an old adage: “Once a singer, always a singer”. Or more clearly stated: “You’re either born with it or you’re not!”
That is absolutely not true!
People have a hard time believing this, but I did not start out as a singer. Guitar is my first instrument and the only reason I started singing in the beginning was just to get me between guitar solos… So I didn’t have to depend on some guy that showed up with a loudmouth girlfriend, trying to tell the band what to do, but not helping anyone carry any gear in, and usually showing up late or not at all.
And the singers I depended on almost never interpreted the songs I was writing in the way that I wanted them to sing the song, and they would reproduce them with an attitude.
No kidding!
So I started my journey to learn how to sing and realized if I could sing “happy birthday” I could actually learn to teach myself how to sing.
And yes, I’ve taken some very expensive confusing vocal lessons along the way and I am breaking this down very simply for you so that you can understand and get started on your journey for singing.
