Journey – Don’t Stop Believing – Cover – Sara Loera – 4K

I wonder if when Journey’s Jonathan Cain, Steve Perry and Neal Schon wrote this song, they had any idea of how wildly successful it would become?

And not just successful in its heyday, but also the longevity that this song has enjoyed.

I remember hearing an interview with Jonathan Cain talking about how he was on the phone with his father, saying he didn’t think he was gonna make it in the music business (no kidding). He was already in a pretty successful group called “The Babys”, as well as a second band with Neil Schon called “Bad English”.

And yes, I do know that he left The Babys to go straight to Journey and that Bad English was in the middle, but the irony is that he had already been in bands with the following smash hits:

The Babys:
Every Time I Think Of You
Isn’t It Time
Midnight Rendezvous
Head First
Back On My Feet Again, and so on.

Bad English:
When I See You Smile
Straight To Your Heart
Price Of Love
Forget Me Not, etc., etc.

So here is Jonathan Cain talking to his father on the phone about how he doesn’t think he’s going to make it in the business and his father’s response was “Don’t stop believing!”.

I find it quite ironic that Jonathan took those words, created a song out of it, and the rest is history.

I think this is a testimony to us all that no matter where we are in life, to not give up. Keep pushing forward, even when it seems like there’s no way out and no way forward.

So Sara and I decided to take on this song and present it to you and hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it for you.
