Steelheart – She’s Gone – Cover – 4K

It’s really a shame that the band Steelheart did not get the same recognition as other bands like Journey, Guns N’ Roses, Scorpions, Van Halen, and many other bands.

The talent was all there! The songwriting was there! Live performance was there!
Killer guitar playing! Incredible vocals! Super tight band!

But as fate would have it, Steelheart came on the scene right at the zenith and pinnacle of when “Grunge” took over in the Rock world (1990).

Yes, there were some very powerful bands that came out of the 90s, obviously; groups like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, and many others.

Most all of those bands were striving for the “Seattle Sound” while Steelheart was still very classic 80s metal… Which I believe cost them their career, unfortunately.

It’s a shame that sometimes life isn’t fair, the music business isn’t fair, and I’m sure there are many bands that we never got to hear of because of hype and the turn of an era, and so forth.

But I haven’t forgotten.

Miljenko Matijević, the singer for Steelheart, is one of the greatest rock metal vocalists of all time (much like Ray Gillen, that few people know of).

Now, this demonstration came about because I was challenged by many who asked me if I could pull this off with my singing technique, since my baritone voice is nowhere near the range of Millie.

And I thought it would be a good opportunity to demonstrate that with the proper technique, training, and pacing of the voice, it is possible for a high baritone like me to sing a high tenor song like “She’s Gone.”

I hope you find this video inspirational!
