“I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston is one of the most iconic love ballads of all time. Originally written and performed by Dolly Parton in 1973, the song gained monumental popularity when Whitney Houston covered it for the 1992 film The Bodyguard, in which she starred. Houston’s powerful, emotional delivery, coupled with her unmatched vocal range, transformed the song into a global hit.

Her rendition begins softly, building up to a powerful crescendo, showcasing her vocal strength, especially in the famous key change. The song spent 14 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and has become a timeless classic, often associated with themes of love, longing, and bittersweet goodbyes.

We used the Whitney Houston version as our jumping-off place for Sara’s amazing cover, and topped it off with a guest appearance from the Nigerian Choir, ITUNU!
