When I first wrote this song, I was a film composer working on a lot of different feature films. At this particular time, I was working on a movie called “Joan of Arc”. The Director had asked me if I would compose a piece for the film highlighting heroines throughout history.

This inspired “Daughters Of Time.”

We already had a commitment from Gloria Estefan to sing the song.

As sometimes happens in the music business, there was another feature film competing with us called “The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc” at the exact same time, which featured Milla Jovovich (really in demand at that time).

The production company I was working with decided to wait as they did not want two competing feature films out at the same time. Unfortunately, our feature film did not get made so I wound up putting it on one of my albums called “We The People”.

I thought it would be a really timely opportunity to release this song for Mother’s Day for all of the amazing mothers out there who are also heroines and “Daughters Of Time”.

On a small side note, I did send this song out to many major feature film production companies, including that of the film Saving Private Ryan who wanted a song about the widows who had lost their husbands to war.

While they never actually used my song, conveniently, there is a scene at the end of the movie with a large plaque of the women affected by war and the names of the widows on the memorial plaque, and they “coincidentally” called it “Daughters Of Time” (no kidding, gotta love Hollywood, but this was far from the first time something like this happened. It happens to many people in Hollywood).

With all that said, I present to you one of my original pieces for you amazing moms out there. You truly are “Daughters Of Time.”

All for love Miss Frank you hid them
And watered heaven tears of gold
And Florence you angel of mercy
Healing both young and old

So costly a price was the sacrifice
Laid on the altar of freedom
Yet your anthems swell the note of praise Until time is done You are

Forever Daughters Of Time
You put your lives out on the line
You all are diamonds in the sky
Candles in the night
Daughters of time

Oh sweet Joan they could not burn
That faith from your eyes
And miss Aylward you saved the children
We see their smiles and hear their sweet voices cry

As we’re making war to live in peace
Silence speaks your fame
And sings your name in the hall of faith Until time is done You are

Forever Daughters Of Time
You put your lives out on the line
You all are diamonds in the sky
Candles in the night
Daughters of time

Forever Daughters Of Time
You put your lives out on the line
To this there’s no-one can refute
It’s you that we salute
Daughters you’re a

Jewel to the nations
A torch to generations
Your hopes your prayers your tears
Triumph over all the years

Forever Daughters Of Time
You put your lives out on the line
You all are diamonds in the sky
Candles in the night
Daughters of time

Forever Daughters Of Time
You put your lives out on the line
To this there’s no-one can refute
It’s you that we salute
Daughters

Forever Daughters Of Time
You put your lives out on the line
You all are diamonds in the sky
Candles in the night
Daughters of time

Forever Daughters Of Time
You put your lives out on the line
To this there’s no-one can refute
It’s you that we salute
Daughters Of Time
