Chester Bennington came in at number 1 on my 25 most Epic Screams of All Time video and today we’ll look at how he was able to achive that kind of range.
Best known as the frontman to Linkin Park, Chester was almost ready to give up on his music career before he got the chance to audition for the band.
The group was rejected by multiple record labels before Warner brothers agreed to sign them. Their debut album Hyrbrid Theory went on to be certified diamond and the group has gone on to sell over 100 million albums.
Vocally, Chester had the unique ability to transition from a very pulled back sound to a full throttle belt with ease.
I’ll be taking a look at how he was able to control and compress air to get those long distorted lines and we’ll look at a version I did of “Numb” as well as KTVA student Kati Cher taking on and slaying “Crawling”.
