I can remember back in the day when all the guys hated Air Supply. Why? Because all the girls LOVED them and secretly the guys wanted to be them.

Air Supply was a soft rock band based in Australia that had a succession of hits worldwide which included 8 Top Ten hits in the United States, in the early 1980s.

The band was comprised of the duo of Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell who met when they were both cast in the chorus of a Sydney, Australia production of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

The two began performing in coffee shops and clubs late night after Jesus Christ Superstar shows. Once they had two original songs, they recorded their demo and eventually caught the attention of CBS records.

After the group achieved their first chart topping single, they were invited to tour with Rod Stewart. He brought them with him to open on the US and Canada leg of his tour, which was the first time Air Supply got to play in the United States.

Although the duo first formed almost 45 years ago, they are still actively recording music and touring around the world.
