Though English singer/songwriter Paul Carrack never made it BIG in the United States, we have all heard his music.
Carrack was known for his deeply soulful voice and has recorded as both a solo artist and as a member of several popular bands. The BBC dubbed him “The Man with the Golden Voice”
In the mid 70s Carrack served as the frontman and principal songwriter of Ace. He also continued to work as a solo artist while also spending time as a member of Roxy Music, Squeeze and The Bleeding Heart Band.
During the mid 80s into the late 1990s, he had a successful stint as both the co-lead singer (with Paul Young) and a songwriter for Mike + The Mechanics. In 2000 Young passed and Carrack became the sole lead vocalist until he left the band in 2004.
Carrack maintains an active solo career to the present day.
I’ll be reacting to his performance of “Tempted” which I think most of you will recognize.
