OK, OK, OK call me Old Skool, Call Me behind the times, say whatever you want, but for some reason I had a hard time getting my brain around Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake. (Yes I know this song has been out for a while).
But to be candid, this song is hypnotizing. Seriously.
Yes, I did a breakdown of Chris Stapleton’s Tennessee Whisky vocal lick, but I love the mesh of these two in this track.
So did Tori.
So we decided to take it on.
Influences are amazing.
The more influences we have, the larger the canvas we have to paint on!
While Justin’s credits are highly publicized, it might be fun to look at a couple of Chris’s accomplishments:
Born April 15, 1978 in Lexington, Kentucky, Chris has penned six country number-one songs recorded by other artists, including Kenny Chesney‘s five-week number one “Never Wanted Nothing More,” George Strait‘s “Love’s Gonna Make It Alright,” and Darius Rucker‘s “Come Back Song.”
In addition to teaming up with Justin Timberlake, Adele, and Joss Stone are among his fans. Adele even recorded Chris’ former band The SteelDrivers’ song “If It Hadn’t Been for Love” as a bonus track on her hit album 21. His song with Justin Timberlake “Say Something”
produced a completely new sound that won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
So we give you “Say Something”
