John Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival has inspired a lot of my musical style and if you have not delved into their music, you need to check them out!
Also referred to as Creedence or CCR, they have helped define what rock is. Their musical style encompassed roots rock, swamp rock, and blues rock.
The band wrote political and socially conscious lyrics about topics including the Vietnam War and performed at the 1969 Woodstock Festival in Upstate New York.
CCR has sold 28 million records in the United States alone but interestingly never had a #1 hit. They had five singles in America which peaked at number two.
Creedence Clearwater Revival’s music is still a staple of US radio airplay and Rolling Stone ranked them 82nd on its 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
